Sunday, Oct. 23, 2005 - 6:09 p.m. Rock and roll wedding I like to think of myself as something of a rebel*, swimming against the tide, always upstream, something like a salmon, the benefit coming in being regal and valued and a tasty treat**. So when I am at a lovely wedding party full of extended family I've not seen for a long time, a free bar and lots of doo-wop to dance to, it would be expected that a person would go whoopee and drink and dance until the small hours, right? But being a rebel *cough* I got mildly bored around 11, went up to our room at the hotel to use the loo and basically have an excuse to not be in the room for a while. I was going to go back down and crack out the dance moves, but I started watching the Johnny Vegas sit com thing (meh) and got waylaid and then my mum came back into the room, having wondered where I'd got to and she thought she might go to bed. So I figured I would too. So we sat in bed and she taught me how to crotchet. Rock and roll! Brilliant, though. I'm hoping to crotchet some earmuffs for my friend going to the Alps for the winter. I'm sure she'd wear them.
