Thursday, Nov. 17, 2005 - 9:35 p.m. Music is liiiiiike Public service broadcast: Jeffrey Lewis session !sound and pictures! on Collective!. If, like Erica you've been too lazy to pay him any dues before, take this opportunity to improve your life. If you can only watch one clip, watch 'Don't Be Upset' and if you can only listen to one song, listen to 'Moving'.Now, I know it's the second time it's been on but I don't get what the UK Music Hall of Fame is about. Does anyone? Judging from the venom Damon was spouting on Mark Radcliffe last night, it seems that most musicians involved think it's a cynical music exec plan that they think is a waste of time ... and yet play at. I have been listening to some rock and roll songs recently and enjoying the bonkers similies that songs of yore employed. Samples: 'Soaring like an eagle right through the air' (well, not so unusual... but then comes: Marvellous. Nothing like that since Snap told us they were serious as cancer (when they say rhythym is a dancer.) I liked it when Jeffrey Lewis sang that balding was the most manly thing he'll ever likely do.
