Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2004 - 9:08 p.m. Postcards from the jungle In Borneo the internet connection is very slow. I tell you this with experience as I am here now and ten mins later the 'add entry' page has opened. Must type quick cos DEAD ANNOYING GIRL came in the room when I'd been on two mins and said 'errrr, how long are you going to be?' and I said back, without looking at her, 'AT LEAST HALF AN HOUR'.Right - so it's like, dead hot here and that. Dead hot and humid and also dead mosquitoey. I have 30 bites on my right leg and 31 on the left and the bright pink patches on my pale English skin ain't such a hot look. But that don't matter so much cos there are just old people here. Joke. Ish. Well there are 2 other people under 30 and a few others under 40 but I am finding myself identifying more with the married couples/parents of people my age types. Well, if you do want a decent conversation...
Later a gibbon ran at me across a lawn. It was so funny and then so scary but I think I managed to get a couple of pics. And the other great bits are the proboscis monkeys - saw loads of them hanging out in the trees yesterday and they are COOL. Please google them to see how hilarious they look with their huge noses and pot bellies. Hi home - private messages: Narcissa - yes I will be back on 4th, I hope this fits?? Trish - lomo has been busy (and breaking) Magoo - dead weird being on hot holiday without you. Lucy says hi. GDC - the orangs were NOT revolting.
