Sunday, Jan. 02, 2005 - 8:19 p.m. The Day After New Year's Day (it's a holiday in New Zealand, appaz) I would be much more interested in the life of Ch@rlotte Church if I was remotely able to listen to opera music. But I find it so unappealing. Fact. So, these days after New Years Day are the ones where I always forget to plan stuff, because it's hard to plan stuff to do in a whole other year. I get caught out every time. But I guess it's good (isn't it?) to sit still amongst oneself and one's things and rest up for ... whatever it is that comes when holiday ends. I've left the house twice this year, the first time for approx 4 mins, just long enough to establish that the chippy wasn't open, and the second time to get as far as Asda and get scared by the hoardes, turn around and buy my eggs and milk at the little shop at the end of my road. Yeah, keepin' it real an'ting. Tomorrow I will see Other People again (hurrah!) but it will be still within my flat and I will probably have got dirt-blind so when people come they will be shocked and appaled by the squalour in which I live. See how lack of stimulation gets to one? I didn't even make it to I Heart Huckabees today. Busy makes busy and lazy makes lazy. Oh but I hope NYE was good for you all. I had a lot of fun and a much superior night compared to the last two years, because I was neither blue nor unwell so hurrah for that. But that last tequila might have been unwise.
