Sunday, Sept. 18, 2005 - 9:50 p.m. Cromer, Cromer, weekend's over I wanted to show off my great Scrabble triumph. I have always been rubbish at Scrabble, and when I got a bit better I still thought it was more important to show off with words than be clever and get points. My mum recently righted me about that and the spoils of her training were reaped last night when ... I got the 50 point bonus! I realised my 7 letter spelled 'umerous' and there was an 'N' with seven spaces alongside:
Just been on a lovely weekend in Cromer and it was a bit like a treat for surviving my first week in my new job. It's going well, and I'm totally awed by what I'm not only allowed to do but sanctioned and meant to do. I mean, I've already written a book! OK so it's about 50 words long and yet to be approved but really, it goes to show what you can achieve if you have to. And now I'm safely out of it I can really consider how booooring my last job was. I knew it was boring, of course, but you can't let yourself understand the full horror of something while you're still living it, can you? My new office is nice (recently refurbished) and the people are friendly and it's just lovely to be around children's books again. Colour! I have to make up rhymes! What's not to like? And here's a lovely picture from the weekend:
