Monday Bloody Monday

Wow, those Easter Island heads really are amazing. They're like the background from Super Mario Land on the Game Boy, but on acid in real life. Not least in my attraction to them is that they bear a facial resemblance to an ex-boyfriend. But thank goodness it's a facial resemblance rather than say, a resemblance in his flexibility or geographical location. Because those would make a relationship really difficult.

Also, they're just SO CUTE.

Dear February,

I don't know what you're playing at but you're dishing out really rubbish Mondays. Is it because you want to get all the bad stuff condensed into one day per week? The wee snow flurry this afternoon did little to distract me from the agony of what seemed to be an angry baby goat taking residence in my uterus. OWCH and PLEASE KNOB OFF.

Do better next week.

Thanks,
Jennyj

Maybe one of the reasons today wasn't pleasant was that I was in a funk following watching Kids, which is a slow-burning depression of a film. Last week I'd seen The Dreamers and that affected me just as much, but in a much more pleasant, uh, dreamy way. But this really is bleak. The only nice things are 1. New York City (even with all the horrid stuff happening in it) 2. Chloe Sevigny. I was surprised that she kept being referred to as 'the pretty girl' because her face is very alluring and kind of beautiful, I think, but I'm not sure if it's pretty.

Oh thank the lord for L00k Around You. Maybe Monday will end not so bad after all?
