Anything Else?

I have a brand new addition to the What's Not To Like occasional series: Anything Else. I don't understand why it wasn't more popular! It's a brilliant companion piece to Annie Hall, the greatest film ever made.

Jason Biggs is like mini-Woody, and Woody plays, well, himself, but a hardened, more cynical version, still obsessed with the holocaust but even more paranoid about anti-Semitism. The two of them form a friendship based on walking around Central Park and Woody dispensing opinions and advice to his younger friend. Nice, because I have an older New York Jewish friend/advice dispenser and the relationship was familiar. But I really hope she doesn't turn into a bonkers murderer too.

Their apartment is brilliant, New York looks great, it's an updated Annie Hall, and the lines are just as hilarious as you'd hope for. 'Just look at her body language. She's all verbs.'

I only watched Broadway Danny Rose last week; there's the theme of the useless agent that you are too personally involved with to drop.

I can't think of any other film maker than Woody Allen that
a) has made so many films
b) has reused the same themes
c) writes such obviously autobiographical stories
d) so consistently entertains me

No more cat news today, but I would like to confirm that I believe the cat to have both a litter tray and a cat flap. I was worried that if the cat dies it might really go off before the owners come home, but Girlsdontcry assures me the heating would have to up quite high for that to happen.

Last question: any of you feel like your life has started yet? I'm beginning to wonder if mine ever will, after all this training I did. Which doesn't amount to much, it seems now.
